HIKING & CAVING IN THE RHODOPY MOUNTAINS, BULGARIA
We would like to introduce your group to our services in Bulgaria. We invite your group to visit our hostel and campsite based in the beautiful Rhodopy mountains. We would like to offer you good hiking trips, specialised complete caving trips, local and overnight 3 and 5 day trips, accompanied by an English & Bulgarian speaking, qualified hiking guide. Wonderful organic local produce, fantastic wild mushrooms, great quality wine, beer, rakia distilled from local plums. Also the Rhodopy folk are known for their great hospitality to guests.
We are based in a village called Buynovo, our website is http://www.geocities.com/cropscheme and all our paying guests help to support the organic farming project. Our rates are very reasonable and we can cater for large groups and vegetarian or vegan diets.
The house is a good base to go and explore the many hikes and caves in the area. We are 9km from the largest cave in Bulgaria, the Yagodina cave and 10km to the spectacular Devils Throat cave near Trigrad. The Trigrad hike is over night 3 or 5 days, we organise your accommodation and food in advance at a traditional Grandma’s house.
After a few days hiking it is great to take a day out and spend a relaxing day at the great value Spa Resort of Devin. The town of Devin is only 25km from the village and is famed for its mineral water all over Bulgaria. They offer all kinds of massage and therapy treatments, just what you need after a long hike up the mountains.
The area is steeped in the legend of Orpheus, and Trigrad has the amazing traditional Orpheus music festival in August. It would be a great experience for anyone to come and visit this area of Eastern Europe, with the natural wild beauty of the forests and the very large colourful wild flower meadows.
Hike to Yagodina Cave and Village - Prices below
A 10km hike down the tranquil Buynovska Valley following the beautiful river. A guided walk through the 7km cave, then we rejoin the river until we come to the amazing Yagodina road and we walk up. Once at Yagodina village we will either stay at accommodation over night or catch the local bus back to Buynovo depending on how the group feels.

Cost for over night trip per person is 60 leva (20 GBP) and this includes the following:

Entrance fee into Yagodina Cave (closed Mondays)
Bed &Breakfast in good quality accommodation

Cost for over night trip per person is 40 leva (13.33 GBP) and this includes the following:

Hike to Trigrad Cave and Village - Prices below
From the village of Buynovo up and over the valley, passing through the fantastically beautiful forests over the large colourful meadows and following the trail that Orpheus walked. The wonderful village of Trigrad lies at the bottom of a valley steeped in myth. The local people, and many Bulgarians who travel from afar, enjoy the Orpheus music festival held in August. This includes a colourful procesion through the village and down to the mouth of the spectacular cave, The Devils Throat. For those on a tight budget we offer camping at the village of Trigrad, or the group can stay at a small bed and breakfast in the village. Trips must be booked at least two months in advance for the festival due to high demand for accommodation. All trips are accompanied by our English, Bulgarian speaking guide who is also a qualified and experienced hiker from the UK.

Cost for 5 day trip per person, 195 leva (65 GBP) and this includes the following:
