MiniMUSS Trip to Carls Wark

I have a proposal for another MiniMuss trip, now that the weather is a little warmer :-)

I propose either Saturday 18th or Sunday 19th August. Location is to be Carls Walk, in Stoney Middleton - First cave I ever went down when I was about 12!

Gentle walk through (1 hour) followed by ladder out up a chimney, or a gentle walk back.

NO WATER! (Well, a bit of standing water, about knee deep).

All MUSS members with kids (or without kids but don't mind going very slowly) welcome.

Cheers,

Wendy

Cave Talk

There is a talk and a show of old caving lantern slides at the Manchester Museum on 5/6/07, 6.30pm.

As part of her Alchemy Fellowship, Ilana Halperin has been exploring dark confined spaces under metres of solid rock. Her guides to the underworld Peter and Julie Mohr will give an illuminated talk with glass slides shown on magic lantern on Tuesday 5th June at 6.30pm. Participants will also be able to journey to the bowels of the Manchester Museum to see cave material kept in the storerooms.

Meet at the Museum reception.

To reserve a place call 0161 275 8789 and leave your name and the number of seats you’d like.
